Site surveys are performed in the initial stages of a project to help a customer determine the suitability of that site for the installation of a Simulsat antenna. Site surveys involve a field engineer visiting a potential site and gathering information such as space availability, on site obstructions, designated area for constructing the antenna, and in some cases, a terrestrial interference (T.I.) analysis.
While on site, the field engineer will discuss the installation procedures and required equipment with the customer. All information obtained during the visit is then used to develop a report by the ATCi Engineering Department which includes suggested antenna layouts and equipment requirements.
Site surveys are highly recommended for locations that have limited space for placing the antenna(s), roof mounting projects, possible view arc obstructions due to surrounding structures, and sites with possible T.I. issues.
